Sodick, Inc, along with NASCAR championship-winning organization Richard Childress Racing (RCR) have renewed their technology partnership until the end of 2013.

RCR is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series racing team whose drivers include Clint Bower (No. 33 Cheerios/Hamburger Helper Chevrolet Impala), Kevin Harvick (No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet Impala), Jeff Burton (No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet Impala), and Paul Menard (No. 27

Menards Chevrolet Impala).  RCR has earned nearly 190 victories and 12 NASCAR championships, including 6 in the Sprint Cup Series with the legendary Dale Earnhardt.

“We are honored to team up with Sodick to help build our race cars,” said Richard Childress, President and CEO of Richard Childress Racing.  “Our goal is to partner with the companies that are the leaders in their respective industries and we have certainly continued that tradition with Sodick.  Precision is such a key element to everything we do at the track and back at the shop, so we’re confident that Sodick will allow us to continue that tradition.”

The technology partnership between RCR and Sodick, Inc. benefits both parties.  RCR will use Sodick Wire EDMs to manufacture the precision parts that go into their NASCAR vehicles.  The Sodick EDM machines will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of custom made precision parts.  RCR chose Sodick because of its precision technology that separates Sodick from its competitors.  In return, Sodick, Inc. will have use of the RCR facility to demonstrate Sodick Wire EDMs to potential customers.

“We have greatly benefited from this partnership for the past three years, having the Sodick (AQ537L) Wire EDM on our shop floor has increased our capabilities to machine components for the chassis, engine, suspension and steering areas of our cars”, said Rick Grimes, Manufacturing Manager of RCR.

Sodick EDMs are built in house from the ground up to ensure the highest level of quality.  Sodick manufactures all vital machine components in one of their ISO certified factories.  RCR believes in the same philosophy.  The RCR facility, located in Welcome, NC, consists of 15 buildings and nearly 500,000 square feet of shop space on its 50-acre campus.

“We look forward to partnering up with RCR and being part of their success in NASCAR racing” said Isabel Florence, Marketing Manager for Sodick, Inc.  “We have enjoyed the past three years of our technical partnership, and are looking forward to another great run with RCR”.
