Linear Motor Drives

The linear motor drive system eliminates the need for ball screws and does away with torsion and abrasion of transfer mechanism parts. Linear motor drives ensure positioning accuracy and do not wear, lessening maintenance costs over a long period of time.

SMART Control Technology – LN2W

The LN2W control uses a Windows XP platform. The system is designed to provide instant familiarity and a user-friendly environment for the operator. The LN2W is network capable, which will enable NC sharing, remote monitoring and messaging via LAN interface.

The LN2W can automatically generate cutting conditions, offsets, corner control settings, wire speed, wire tension and other date necessary for proper high efficiency operation. This capability can be especially helpful to novice EDM operators, since no prior knowledge of EDM is necessary to achieve excellent results.

Eco-Friendly

The EXC100L Wire EDM features energy-saving designs and technologies. Compared to conventional EDMs, the Sodick Wire EDM Range can reduce average energy consumption by up to 60%.

Ultra-Precision Nano Machine

The EXC100L uses Sodick’s own air slider made of ceramic, a linear motor drive and is equipped with the world’s first absolute non-contact X,Y transverse table. It comes with a high resolution linear scale to deliver a minimum increment of 10 nanometers. The machine comes equipped with a high-performance machining liquid cooling device as a standard feature that ensures stable ultra-precision machining.
