Linear Motor Drives
Sodick’s AQ400L Wire EDM features a linear motor drive system with a direct-drive, vibration free mechanism which has unrivaled acceleration and positioning accuracy with no backlash. Sodick’s X, Y, U and V linear motor drives are backed by Sodick’s 10-Year Positioning Guarantee. Linear motors have highly dynamic responsiveness, stability for precision machining performance and do not diminish over time and will remain maintenance free. Sodick's original K-SMC Motion Controller also works to maximize the efficiency of the linear motor drive system.
SMART Control Technology – LN Series
The AQ400L's Windows XP based, high speed control comes standard with a large 15.1” LCD touch screen. Standard items; such as, the LAN network connection and a 1GB USB memory stick make it easy to transfer programming files. The 4 GB compact flash card memory eliminates hard drives which can crash resulting in lost data. In the event of power loss, the UPS system will automatically lock the axis drives. Once power is restored, the machine will automatically power itself up and resume cutting.
The Heart NC on-board, user-friendly programming software is beneficial for shops that are on a tight budget. Heart NC can program both 2 and 4 axes shapes and import CAD files. After programming, the user-friendly Condition Set Screen will automatically select the optimum cutting conditions and offsets from its internal database and add them to the NC program.
Eco-Friendly
The AQ Series features energy-saving designs and technologies. Compared to conventional Wire EDMs, the Sodick Wire EDM Range can reduce average energy consumption by up to 60%.
FJ (Fixed Jet) AWT
The AQ400L Wire EDM features a FJ AWT. The FJ AWT has a reliable threading rate for both submerged and non-submerged threading. The FJ AWT has improved wire straightness due to thermal cuts and improved cutter performance is ensured by close round guides. The AQ400L comes with a tension servo function that controls and stabilizes the wire tension during cutting to ensure highly accurate performance.
