August 1976 Established Sodick Co., Ltd. In Midori-ku, Yokohama, Japan
December 1976 First NC EDM system microcomputer delivered
April 1979 Sales of FINE Sodick Series NC EDM systems began 
June 1980  Fukui production Plant completed – became main production center 
September 1980 Participated in first IMTS 1980 show in Chicago
October 1980 Ultra-fine finish PIKA 1 circuit machine completed
January 1981 Sales began for the 330W NC Wire EDM system with simultaneous 5-Axis control
October 1981 Shipments of the FINE Sodick Series NC EDM systems reach 1,000 units
January 1982 Development of the 8133 EDM power supply unit began (renamed MARK III in April 1982)
March 1982 Sodick, Ltd. Incorporated in Los Angeles, CA. Developed and began selling the high performance VITOL special machining fluid 
October 1982 Completed new corporate headquarters in Shin-Yokohama, Japan
March 1983 New MARK IV and MARK B Series NC power supply units introduced, Sodick Europe GmbH established in Frankfurt, West Germany
December 1983 Sodick, Inc. and Sodick, Ltd merged in the US to form Sodick, Inc.
September 1984 Developed and introduced the Small Hole EDM
November 1985 Introduced the MARK X and XI EDM systems and reorganized product line
February 1986 Sodick listed on the second division of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
November 1989 Grand opening of Technical and Training Center in Kaga factory, introduction of A15 super-large sized NC EDM systems 
April 1991 Sodick acquired Japax, Inc.
May 1994 Introduced EXC100, high precision Wire EDM with ceramic machine structure
April 1999  Introduced AQ Series High Speed Die Sinker EDM with linear motor drives on 3 axes
February 2000 Established Sodick America Corporation in San Jose, CA – started motion controller development
January 2003 Linear Motor machines sold exceeded 5,000
January 2005 Linear Motor machines sold exceeded 10,000 
September 2006 Announced 10-Year Positioning Accuracy Guarantee on all Linear Motor EDMs at IMTS 2006 in celebration of 30 year anniversary
April 2007 Introduced SGF Circuit – no wear, high speed power supply circuit
March 2008 Linear Motor machines sold exceeded 20,000
October 2009 Release of new AG Wire Range and AG Sinker Range
June 2010 Launched new cost-friendly VZ Series Wire EDMs
September 2010 Linear Motor machines sold exceeded 25,000
September 2010 Introduced Eco-Cut and Eco-Cut W high speed circuits for Wire EDMs
