China (Amoy Plant)

The newest of Sodick’s plants is the Amoy facility. This plant opened in August of 2007. This factory is geared for the streamline production of EDM components such as ceramics and linear motors, sheet metal processing to assembly, integrated system of production from raw material to the finished product. Other then these components the factory also makes some of Sodick’s Sinker EDMs.

The Sodick Suzhou plant is just a short distance from Shanghai. This facility was built in 1995 and now manufactures Wire and Sinker EDMs.

Sodick was established in 1976, Yokohama was the first location and still remains the company’s headquarters.

Japan (Fukui Plant)

This plant was built in 1980 as a manufacturing center in the Hokuriku area on the Japanese seaside. This plant has various departments such as; Design, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Training Center, Applications, Measurement and Purchasing. These different departments being at the same location enable the lead time from design to testing the complete machines be very short. The production line is in temperature controlled buildings so that components are not affected by temperature. This plant manufactures EDMs, High Speed Mills and consumables.

Thailand - (Bangkok Plant)

The largest of all the plants the Thailand plant develops new technologies and innovations with product groups that help Sodick customers manufacture high end products. This plant is the main manufacturing facility for Sodick EDMs. This plant has been operational since 1990 and performs all aspects to improve product quality; from development of new models to improvement of existing models.

Sodick made its way to America in 1980. The US headquarters is in Schaumburg, IL with branch offices in Yorba Linda, CA and Rockaway, NJ and an R&D facility in San Jose, CA.
