ExpoTecnic 2016

Growing machinery distributer, Protecnic de Mexico, welcomed guests to their new headquarters in Queretaro, Mexico, in celebration of ExpoTecnic 2016. ExpoTecnic, Protecnic’s first-ever open house, drew attendees from all parts of Mexico, including Chihuahua, Puebla, Mexico City, and Monterrey. Greatly exceeding expectations, the success of ExpoTecnic highlights the growing opportunities for manufacturers in Mexico.

The new facility is home to Protecnic’s new showroom, displaying a wide range of advanced Wire EDMs, Sinker EDMs, 5-Axis Mills, and Lathes. More than 120 guests representing over 50 companies attended demonstrations of advanced Sodick EDM technologies, including the SL400G, VZ300L, and AD35L. The day also included technology presentations, and demonstrations from other machine brands represented by Protecnic, such as Hermle and Tsugami.

The Sodick SL400G, part of Sodick’s premier SL-G line of wire EDM, features the latest “Smart Pulse Wire” control and generator. These technologies enable the SL-G series to reduce the number of cuts required to achieve a target finish, leading to significantly reduced cutting times. The SL-G also offers import of 3D CAD files and automatic programming, as well as a Fixed-Jet annealing AWT with “pop-up” auto-rethread.

Sodick’s VZ and AD lines, also on display, are among the most popular and most cost effective models, featuring extra-large work tanks with minimal floor space requirements. All Sodick machines on display feature Sodick’s exclusive combination of Rigid Linear Motor drives, Motion Control, and Ceramic workspaces. Together, these technologies dramatically improve machining accuracy by eliminating friction, wear, thermal distortion, vibration, and more.
