CNC Sinker EDM
C32
Affordable

The world’s most affordable CNC Sinker EDM
Sodick’s C32 CNC Sinker is the worlds’ most affordable and compact CNC sinker.  It is a sure fit for any shop’s budget and floor space.  The C32 was designed with high-end features that include a Z axis linear motor drive, zero electrode wear technology and a user-friendly control that writes its own NC code.  The C32’s control has adopted the industry’s first 1Gbit/sec-super high speed serial communication technology.  This high speed communication system eliminates transmission delays resulting in instantaneous servo responsiveness which maximizes machining efficiency.

C32 Competitive Advantages

  • Menu driven control
  • No flush technology
  • Z axis glass scale feedback
  • Z axis linear motor drive
  • Zero electrode wear circuit

No flush technology:
The fast axis speed (1,440”/min) and high acceleration (1.2G) of the C32’s linear motor driven Z axis creates its’ own flushing condition.  This eliminates the need to machine flush holes into the electrode or set up auxiliary flush ports which is especially beneficial to novice EDM operators.

Zero electrode wear:
This eliminates the need for multiple electrodes by practically eliminating electrode wear.  The zero wear circuit reduces electrode wear to less than .1% while increasing machining speed by as much as 20%.  Less electrode wear results in fewer electrodes which saves on production cost and errors associated with multi electrode preparation.  In some cases, only 1 electrode is required.  Large reduction of machining time, cost, and human errors can be expected thanks to the zero wear circuit.

User-friendly control:
The C32’s Windows XP base LMX32 control prompts the operator to input the required cutting data such as electrode – workpiece material, cutting depth, required surface finish and orbit pattern.  The C32 will then automatically write the NC code that includes the cutting conditions and offsets.
