We have 2 30 NC EDM's vintage 1980. They are terrific machines. We use copper electrodes exclusively. My question is what settings should I set my 7130 power control for spotting S-7 Rc 48-52 cavities together. I have a program that starts with the cavities .200 apart with 7 amps peak and goes down in current as the blocks come together. The last 4 settings I use the built in pica settings (#14-17) until the blocks are together. This process takes a long time especially over large surface areas. The results are fantastic. The cavities that I am currently spotting are 5.25"x 5.25" with fine shutoff detail. Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time.
