I have an A3C with Mark III control(software supposedly updated to Mark V before I bought it). The x axis moves under power just fine, but if you try to move the y or z axis the whole machine, including the control, freezes up and won't do anything until you restart it. Any idea what the cause is and is there anyone in the Detroit area you'd recommend to repair the machine?

Probably either the PM-Latch board or the SBC set is defective. First make sure your "Motor type" parameters in the Mechanical file are correct and as per your Mech file print-out. On some older machines there is not a selection for Motor Type, but if this machine was updated to a Mark 5 control it has a selection for Motor Type and it should be set to 10. If all the settings are correct, try replacing the PM-Latch board first as it is much less expensive than the SBC set. Sodick does have a service rep in the Detroit area. Our main office is in Chicago. To contact the service dept for phone support please call 847-759-6911
I have FS-A2C with MARK 4 control. I sourse on it display all ASCII code. that's all.I take 86/14, SBC, PM latch and RM001 boards to other machine to check. It's ok. I do not know to check any board and which board was defective ? Can you teach me how to check and repair ? +12v, -12v, +5v, +24v and -5v are ok.
I study to repair mysefl. I am in VietNam. I 'd like to study SODICK EDM but I have not any document about SODICK EDM. I only know on internet and download which file I need.
Thank you very much !!!
