I have a roto-bore spinning head mounted in my Wire EDM AP600 and I am trying to cut a profile in the side of a round part, (like a lathe). I have tried to get a steady cut, but have not had any luck. it seems there is just not enough surface area, and I get a lobing effect, and very slow feeds. I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with this, and if they have any power settings that they use. I can provide drawings of what I am doing. Please Email me at Ken@kjprecision.com

Ken it is very difficult to cut a rotating part.
There is a lot of material that has to be removed. Cutting a 2 inch diameter is like
cutting a 6.25 inch thick part. Before you
can advance horizontaly all the material on the
diameter must be removed. My suggestion slow
the rotation enough to clean it up, raise the
SV and slow the feedrate down. This type of
cutting is very slow and tedious and can be done
overnight for best results
