Q. I HAVE A LONG RUNNING PART WITH AN M00 NEAR THE END SO I CAN SUPPORT THE SLUG. FROM THE PROGRAM START TO THE M00 SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 10 HOURS. I WON'T BE BACK IN THE SHOP FOR 2 DAYS. IS THERE A WAY I CAN AVOID THE PART SITTING IN WATER FROM THE TIME IT READS THE M00 UNTIL I COME BACK IN?

A. Certainly. M00T83T97 should do it. If you want the stop to be optional, put a slash (/) in front of the line and activate it by turning the block skip on or off in the "SET" screen. An M01 will not work in this case because even if optional stop is off, meaning do not stop, the T83 and T97 will still be used. Then the machining will stop with an error saying that the dielectric level has dropped.
